Officially approved Norwegian courses

After completion of Norwegian course(s), a course certificate will be sent, including the amount of hours completed. The course certificate is officially recognized by the police and UDI as documentation in applications for permanent residency.

Approved Norwegian provider

K2 is approved by the Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir) as a provider of training for adult immigrants.

Beginner

Norwegian A1 – A2

Norwegian for beginners. Take this course if you have little to no knowledge of the language from before.

Intermediate

Norwegian A2 – B1

Norwegian for those that already know some of the language from before. Many jobs require that you are on level B1.

Higher level

Norwegian B1 – B2

Norwegian for advanced participants. This course prepares you for NORSKPRØVEN, which you need to be able to become a Norwegian citizen.

Norwegian – NEW!

Learn basic Norwegian in a fun and engaging manner while earning UDI-approved hours that count toward residency requirements.

B1-B2: Norwegian for advanced participants. This course prepares you for Norskprøven, which you need to be able to become a Norwegian citizen.

Here you can find more information about the Norwegian language test A1 – B2. The Norwegian language test consists of four subtests. The subtests measure how well you can speak and write Norwegian, and how well you understand written and spoken Norwegian.

Requirements for Norwegian and social studies to be eligible for a permanent residence permit have changed from 1 September 2025.

These are the new requirements:

Passed an oral Norwegian test at least level A2
Passed a social studies test in a language you understand

Norwegian – NEW!

Learn basic Norwegian in a fun and engaging manner.

300 hours – 7 months

Norwegian A1-B1

This course is designed for beginners, and includes A1, A2 and B2. You have access for 7 months and will complete 300 hours. Our educational institute is approved by HK-dir and UDI, so the course hours count towards your permanent residency.
